York Hospital Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit

A comprehensive renovation to create a single-floor secure, 56-bed inpatient unit to provide a range of behavioral health and medical care levels with the appropriate models of care. The unit also includes associated patient spaces such as activities and dining areas, group therapy rooms, consultation rooms, seclusion rooms, serenity rooms, exam rooms, and visitors’ areas. Support spaces such as staff stations, medication rooms, and individual offices/workspaces have been thoughtfully programmed and located to maximize staff efficiency and emphasize the importance of the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. The project includes major infrastructure upgrades to the MEP systems, most notably the HVAC system conversion to all overhead air. Marshall Craft developed a multi-phase relocation plan and a phased construction plan to minimize disruptions to the active adjacent spaces. Phase II is currently underway.
